You can find small camps in the wild : a tent with loot inside, and a bandit guarding it/warming himself by the fire. ;)
Beware though, those guards can have some pretty good guns.

EDIT : by the way guys, you can actually steal those tents and keep 'em for yourself.
(Unlike vanilla DayZ.)

About tents in general...

I can't find a way to place them, rotating them with Q and E also don't work so I'm getting stuck with that tent always in front of me without putting it back in the inventory or aborting the action.

I also can't place stashes, it always shows up that I need a flat ground free of other objects.

Some help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Halecks,

There is something strange with the Zombies and the hatchet - I understand it now:

1) Zombies seem to have a kind of un-stoppable and very quick attack animation: when they start their attack they are outside hatchet range, then they move in a sweeping movement and come within range and hit you at the same time

2) if I aim with the hatchet to the position where the Zombies are before their attack animation I miss: I must aim to the position where the Zombies will go while they do the sweeping movement and that may work if I time my attack correctly, but there is a lot of hit-and-miss and I get hit by them frequently, it is rather frustrating because I use to rely on the hatchet a lot before

3) If you have many Zombies nearby, they all execute the attack animation at the same time

Am I the only one experiencing this? It is a 1.8 thing?

Anubis it same to me... it's pretty hard to kill with hatchet but you can learn:)

Yeah, I've uploaded a new one where the script has been improved (an hour ago); but you might have to restart a new game if you want the new script to kick in... :/

Not sure that it's a 1.8 flaw, but yeah something's definitely wrong with their attack sequence : they should be closer to the player before attacking. I'll try to mess with it.

Some of the build mechanics are broken when you resume a save, but still, you should have a "finish construction" option in the scrolling menu. I might switch back to the older way for pitching tents...

Hey its been almost a year since I played and installed the update and can see its come a long way :) I just have one questions (otherwise its pretty flawless as is)...

Im not sure if its just me or not however I used to see units on map to include my party,enemy, and zeds. Now when i bring up map its completely empty with the exception of the city. Is this now by design? I used to be able to target enemy and have my party attack and now im having trouble finding the direction and location.

Again great job man...  This is still my favorite mod :)

Yeah that came along with the 1.8 DayZ build : they've banned some markers for the map.
I don't really mind since I never used them; but I can un-ban them for a future update if you guys want. ;)

Dude. What on earth have you done?!
Not unlike your previous editions, this one is particularly amazing! I must have had at least 75-100 zombies all tracking me (really nice navigation!), it was marvelous to watch! (and escape from!) So far I have died 4 times, each time finding only a crowbar, apart from the previous life where I found the dinner-bell sniper, so I camped on a roof in Elektro Docks.

The Zombs didn't appear to want to climb which I think is actually pretty nice. So I sat there, surrounded for ages (like a long while, and some of the zombies started dissipating), until I was picked off by a distant bandit. I think that you have done a good job with the distance-to-hit, both the player and zombie range is now quite balanced. I can hit far and so can they now, the challenge is back in the game!

Frame rate goes right up when I play single player, which is great for my six year old rig! Playing online is not fun on my Pc (laggius maximus), so many thanks again man for setting this all up again. I appreciate all of your efforts on this so much, I'm going straight back in immediately!

I ignore it and press okay and start the dayz sp map.

When I quit the game and click resume it says 'You cannot play/edit this mission. It is dependent on downloadable content deleted.CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E.'

Please help me!.

 yeah Nathan I have that same problem and cant seem to fix it I would also like some help plz.

1st error message: You can simply copy all the cba_... files from the archive directly into the @DaiZy_FACTIONS\Addons

2nd error message: Did you copy (or made a link to) the AddOns folder of "Arma 2" into "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead"?

It is a bug. it now happened twice:

After a clean-up of many dead Zombies the loot and Zombie generation stop completely. It happened once in Berezino and once in Elektro. After that, the town remains empty.

ok so I just downloaded this mod and I followed the instructions but when I spawn theres no character visible and I cant move does anyone know a fix?

Hunger and thirst seem to grow very quickly: I checked the thirst indicator and it moves from full green (just after drinking a can) to blinking red in 9 minutes. Isn't that too fast?

Hunger as well, I will take some timing for that.

Did that happen after using the loot cycle script? On one occasion during my tests, zeds didn't seem to spawn anymore in Tcherno : it was actually due to the game taking some time to delete the previously spawned ones and everything went back to normal after I left the city.
But I never had any trouble with the loot spawn though... :/
