I've finally managed to fix the zeds spawn issue! (This time for good.) I also added a couple of features for the update : - Respawning choppers : when a helis patrol is destroyed, another one will spawn after some time. They won't be more than two patrols at the same time. They'll also spawn a bit further from the player. - Breath fog by night for every unit. I'm still working on balancing a few things - but I dare say it'll be ready this week! |
Man can you add some heli crashes, coz i don't find them and i search at all spawns of heli crashes!

Read the previous posts : they were broken and will be fixed with the update. ;) EDIT : Another addition to the changelog : - Some bandits were failing to identify all zeds as targets, especially those who would spawn after they did. This should fixed! Their spawn sequence should also be a bit less demanding on your CPU. |

Final changelog for Factions 2.7 :
- All the changes from dayz 1.8.0.3. - The helicrash wrecks will spawn properly. - Helis patrols spawn only once per trigger from now on (this is to prevent them from being too numerous). They'll also have unlimited fuel. - Destroyed helis patrols will respawn after some time (2 choppers max on the map). - Helis patrols will spawn further from the player. - Helis change their patrol routine every 45 minutes. - The journal will properly display how many days you survived. - Added loot cycle script. It will be triggered whenever you sleep at a tent - as long as it is pitched in a forest. - Helicrash loot will spawn in weapon boxes (so they aren't deleted by the loot cycle script). It might be changed or modified later. - Changed helis patrol spawn process (no more freezes). - Infected camps should now spawn properly (to be tested). - You can choose how much time you want to sleep. - Added an Autosave feature when sleeping at a tent, if you guys wanna play in veteran or higher difficulty mode. - Tweaked Zed behaviour : it will a bit easier to put some distance between you and them if you are spotted, but they will track you down longer than before. Even if you loose sight of them, they might still be on your trail; Infected will actually hunt for prey (rather than suddenly loosing interest in you because you ran into some tree)... - Save & Autosave will be disabled if you're in a vehicle : this will ensure that the hunger/thirst system is not broken. (Fix for the following bug : "The thirst & hunger features currently don't work in vehicles.") - Added Respawn system for the player. - Breath fog by night for every unit. - Fixed : Some bandits were failing to identify all zeds as targets, especially those who would spawn after they did. Is the new version available yet? Just tried to download and it still says 1.7.7.1.
Oh and I had some issues with the work that has been done hear by all the people that have contributed. I only ask that you proceed to change this sometime soon to fix these issues. I can't believe that anyone would release a mod that causes someone to get adrenaline shakes, dry and blurry eyes from not blinking, and lack of sleep from losing track of time while playing. Anyway just wanted to say what a great mod this is and keep up the awesome work. ;) |
Haha! Thanks man! ^^ The 2.7 update isn't available yet : I'm taking some time to make sure there isn't any bad surprises left, and balance a few things. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days! |

A question, might be a bit of a silly one but I'm pretty new to using mods in ARMA2. What would the difference be in game, between using CoWarModlite vs the full version? I have been trying to get an idea on this online but have found no real information on the differences between the two. |

does this only work on 1.7.7 or can this work on new versions of Arma 2 OA

You won't need the full version : it's an even bigger addons collection than the lite version - wich is already more than enough : I'm only using a few of them. The others either don't work in DayZ, or don't bring anything usefull. |
Yeah I had free time so I tried it with both. Using the full version kind of makes a mess of the status icons on the right side, and like you said most of the extras I either won't use or the mod can't use. I went back to the Lite version. You called it right.

Looks like the respawn system is causing some crashes after all. I might do the update without it and take the time to simplify/improve it... |
Who needs respawns? That's what saves are for, right?
I am glad you are taking your time with this, and I appreciate the fact that you're giving it your all to make sure this will be released without any bugs, or as few as you can manage. I'm giddy like a schoolgirl for this update. But I'm a man. .. don't ask why I'm in this poodle skirt. |
i think that the respawn isn't important.

Woops! I think I know why; will reupload soon! EDIT : Fixed! It was some last minute change I made to the mission file - I'm re-uploading right now. |
