 Hello everyone, In response to some guys wanting ai to fly choppers and healing.  I usually use lost key's spawn o matic and spawn in some friendly ai. Since lost key reads all your addons, i can spawn any character from any release and a whole lot more. Usually i spawn in some survivors at base from the blonde to the factory workers, couple dogs, give it a feel that it is being occupied. I have found that if ya spawn in a pilot, i am able to tell him to get in the chopper and i can point and click on the map and he will bring me to that marker and land safely 99 percent of the time, i like to save before i get into the chopper. Vehicles are the same, or u can command ai to drive while u are in the vehicle with him. I also spawn in some soldiers, usually spec ops or seals, medic, pilot and a couple others and that's my squad and we go look for supplies and defend the camp, they do see bandits as a threat. Most of the medic classes can heal any ai spawned in with lost key, i have not figured out how to heal friendly survivors that you meet on the map, but i guess if ya recruit someone and he dies just spawn in the same character from the spawn tool in lost key and then u can heal him with the medic. The mods i have running are, asr_ai, COwar, JSRS, Lost key. I am not sure if this will help anyone, more of just the way i play daizy. lost key is a great tool and i have spent countless hours messing with it and seeing what does work and what does not since it was never meant to be used on dayz. You can also spawn in any building, just placing it is a little tricky, just save before you do anything, so you can revert.

Hello, Haleks. I've realized you don't have alot of time.

I've also noticed that my Origins loot system didn't quite work as I wanted.
So I started writing a script to remove all the loot (including backpacks :D) 2000m from the player, each 15m, and then mark the building as looted, to allow fresh loot to spawn instantly.


I've not tested it yet, because I'm still finishing up. If it ends up working properly, I'll throw it your way.

I usually don't like to spawn stuff in. Once I start it's a slippery slope and I lose interest rather quickly. That bit about the heli is interesting though. I might actually try that.

Some survivors can actually heal others, usually the ones with the vanilla DayZ survivor clothing or the hero skin. When you select one you can point the arrow at an injured team member. The arrow should turn into a star and you get the option to tell him to heal that team member. It only seems to work when that survivor is red though.

Another way is to select the survivor, press '6', then '2', which should be the option to 'Heal Survivor'. In this case you can't actually tell him which team member to heal. He'll just pick an injured one at random, but you can repeat the process until everyone is healed.

If you can get this working that would be amazing. I am rather new to DayZ but I have put in well over 50 hours of play on this DaiZy. I only have 2 questions concerning the loot script: 1) Will I have to start a new save? Because I have put so much into this one, I would hate to have to bomb it now. 2) Will the script also clear out vehicles, and stashes? Because, if it does clear out those things, I would be devastated... now on the other hand I wouldn't complain if I got raided by bandits, lol, that should be a real threat in my opinion.

Installed/Played this Faction bit with Bandits...included the cheat menu as well (DaiyZ Factions 1.7.7. with CHEATS - Based on Haleks Release)


I decided to do some things...noted that there are some issues and one has been addressed (Cowar add-on) for the heli to land...My heli and crew decided to hijack my helicopter from me while we were landed at NWA and I was scouting out the ATC tower...noted the heli taking off and then was gone....laughed my ass off....fakking untrustworthy teammates :P  tried everything to get them to land...eventually crashed into woods but crew stayed alive but unable to be utilized anymore - restarted game :P

Second game I was at NWA and landed next to another UH-60...was pretty busted up so I decided to fix it.  I could fix everything except HULL....now for hull it is supposed to be Scrap Metal and when I clicked on the Hull 7% Red option it said:  You need a to fix this item....the required item was never mentioned and having scrap metal in my inventory did not work to fix this.   Is this a bug?  What happened here?

Third game, I decided to try my hand at building something...so I am now in the middle of nowhere...decide to build a large wall...have the tank traps, sand bags, etc.   I look at the blue Crafting menu and scroll to the item I want to build....it shows I have everything.  The BUILD button is white and unclickable on all items...so what is up with that?  I thought it was supposed to work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My main concern with base building is that I want to see the same type of base building as EPOCH utilizes (where you can build floors, walls, roof, etc. into a full building of your own creation) - if this is possible please let me know...the base building in factions seems to be limited to available building types only but I cannot even get these to work yet.


I do not have the add-ons installed (Cowar and JSRS mods) - only Factions and the main stuff...but from what I saw, Factions allows for base building.

This made me laugh my ass off. Hahaha, "fuck you, we're out of here".

However, I can't help you on the friendly AI/heli matter. I've taken part in a few discussions about it, but there seems to be no perfect way of operating AI's in helis.

Both me and Haleks had problems with a similar thing before, because hull wasn't added to the fix vehicle script. However, it got fixed. So this have to be something else. Did you have a toolbox?

This is also something I wouldn't be able to help you with, without messing with Haleks files. From what I've read/understood, though, it should be working properly. And did before.

Yes, Factions should have the building stuff working.


I'm sorry for replying on something you directed to Haleks. But he's away or something. So I thought I would help you as good as I could, wich isn't much since I don't know all that much about this release.

As for fixing the Helo...yes, I had used my toolbox, I had to fix all the other items first....glass, engine, fuel, etc.  So far, having played another 5-6 games, I have not yet run across this strange hull fix message again.

The biggest problem now is I am still getting that issue with building stuff...white BUILD button that is unclickable - and so far as I can see, when you click the listing it does not work either.

I finally installed the Cowar addon although I have not yet seen anything else new from my games with it on.

I do notice something odd when I spawn a weapon for myself - after getting it and adding ammo, the weapon does not show up in the upper right corner all the time...when it does, it does not display the ammo at all either.

The cheat menu is really odd...you have weapons but the corresponding ammo is not available.  Like DMR....you can spawn the gun, but not the ammo - I think there is also an issue with the AS50...once its spawned and ammo added, the weapon hits perfect but does absolutely no damage to anything - and of course after 1 shot, you pretty much have an entire town full of zombies after you while you cannot kill anything with the weapon.

Binoculars do not spawn even though they are in the cheat menu as well.  It seems its a busted cheat program once I started seeing what you could and could not do with it - testing it out was definitely informative.  

Spawning vehicles is also odd...twice I tried to spawn a helo and each time rather than spawning in front of me, the helo gets spawned at an angle behind me and it is usually half placed inside a building...last game I played last night I ended up just getting in and trying it out....bounced the helo backwards out of the building to finally rest a few meters away and able to take off without a hitch...just odd where it spawned so you have to have a 360 circle free it appears.

Noticed any of this at all by chance?

I think I am going to try that Lost Key thing...and see how that works...I want to setup a small team and eventually build a base (when I can get this to work) :)

I think this is a part of CoWarMod. To make it more realistic. I remember seeing the same thing.

The reason the AS50 does no damage is because it was banned in 1.7.7.1. Haleks would have to unban it.

Yes, this is an old spelling error in the cheat menu. But you shouldn't cheat in the first place. ;)

Well, there's an easy fix, don't spawn vehicles when you're in a city. ;D

I think Haleks is still using heli crashes that are activated by triggers. So go back up north, and take a different path.

Hi, I've just downloaded this great mod and i'm having some trouble, no matter which variant of the mission i choose it will not let me play, i only have the option to press a button which says "Continue" which, when pressed takes me back to the mission selection menu of Arma 2. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? Thanks in advance and sorry if it's a trivial question i'm quite new to this.

Reece I believe you are asking about "respawning" vs restarting. If so this feature was removed due to it causing alot of problems which lead to the game being per say unplayable after awhile. Make sure to save then reload that save if your character dies....or just don't die

Hey folks, it's been a loong time!

Some news : Factions 2.7 should be ready soon! The last big issues will be fixed :
- the helis wrecks will spawn properly (with the loot and all).
- I made some changes to the helis patrols; they will spawn only once per trigger from now on (this is to prevent them from being too numerous) but I've added a few more triggers - don't worry. They'll also have unlimited fuel so that they don't land (and wait to be found) at some point.
- the performance issue over time should be fixed - eventhough I'm afraid I really don't have time to test it... But thanks to feedbacks people posted here, I'm pretty confident it will work ;)

Also, it will be based on the 1.7.7.1 code still : the last update deactivates the orders menu (and replace it with the shortcut thing for the player's weapons) - wich can be annoying since we need that menu to command the AI in DaiZy. Plus, I'm not really fond of the new UI graphic style :P

If you're still playing this, expect the (most likely) final update within a few days!

I was actually getting abit worried, welcome back.

I need to run something by you, too. I've written a script for loot cycle. The script should be properly written, it just didn't like the way I defined the ArmA classes. Either you take a look at what I have, or I send it when I've researched the ArmA side of scripts, abit more.

(Since I told you I'd write one for us).

I finally took the time to squash out the last few issues with the current version of Factions (I wish I'd done it sooner though); but that being said, I don't know if I'm gonna be modding Arma for long still : I guess I'm growing a bit tired of all the dayz/daizy thing... But who knows?

Above, I'll be glad to have a look at your script and see what you came up with ;)
As it happens I wrote one some time ago but never get to use it in Factions (since it was sorta breaking the helicrashes loot sequence - I had some ideas to modify those...). It is quite a simple one - no more than 7 lines - and it works just fine : it handles the deletion of any items or bags on the ground, beeing loot piles or stuff left behind by the player. Just tell me if you wanna look at it! ;)
