I guess some of you guys noticed that Zeds do not spawn in forest like they are supposed to...
Just found a work-around solution! It only takes 2 lines of code ...plus some work in the editor ^^
Every thing should be done for this week-end; but it'll be more of a polish/fix update since I'm struggling with some features I wanted to add.

All right, this has been updated!

The combat roll is yet to be fixed though :/
Otherwise, it should feel just like MP; I've (hopefully) fixed most of the immersion-breaking issues. The Zeds spawning in forest is still WIP, so tell me if you guys'd like to see more or less of them. The same goes for the survivors AI : finding them is harder than before - and I'm pretty sure I've already killed a couple of them, not knowing if they were hostile or friendly... ^^ Let me know if you want more survivors.

From now on I will work on adding new features, such as convoys, helis crashing in front of the player and AI respawn scripts.

Meanwhile I hope you guys enjoy the update! ;)

I got a question too, do you have Steam or Skype or anything so that one can communicate abit easier?

Just D/L it and tried, spawned around Elektro. Thanks a lot for the new release, some feedback:

[1] Met near the Power Plant 2 NPCs, looked like survivors, went close to them and suddenly the "squad" menu (F1, F2, F3) appeared but the guys were not doing anything and not responding to the F2,F3 orders... Bummer!

[2] After changing the skin the "squad" menu disappeared. Went close to the same NPCs, nothing happened anymore. Tried the middle mouse (roll) button to get options, nothing happened.

[3] Saw another NPC in Elektro: no bandit skin but he opened fire, so I assumed bandit and killed him. When looting there was no red 'bandit' label on it however

[4] Saw a fourth NPC camping like a sniper, went very close, no reaction whatsoever, killed him. Again no 'bandit' red label when looting

Questions:

a) do bandit still get the red 'bandit' label when looting as before?
b) what I have to do exactly to recruit survivors?
c) will I find survivors around me in the wilderness (just like bandits) or only in the main cities?
d) the skin glitch (loose the squad after a skin change) is still there?

I just tried with a clean install (with nothing more than the rMod) and everything works fine for me (I was able to recruit one AI around the factory north of Elektro) :/
Are you sure you're using the new mission file (the recruit thing is set in there)? Does it say something like "DaiZy Factions v1.2" in the scenarios menu?
As for your questions :
a : I didn't change anything regarding that; so yes, they should still have the red label (Actually I'm not sure, I don't have this label thing since I play on max difficulty).
b : You should see a "recruit survivor" option poping right in the middle of the screen when facing them (you have to be within 10 meters I think). It's also available via the scroll menu.
c : You'll find them around major cities down south; they tend to hide in small settlements up north.
d : You'll loose command of your squad when changing skin, but it's not much of an issue anymore : you can use the recruit option several times (I've updated the description in the main post).

I suggest you try a fresh install; I can't see why it wouldn't work for you...
Lemme know how it goes!

EDIT : Added a couple of screenshots in the main post so you can see the recruit feature in action ;)

Hi Haleks,

Thanks for the help. My fault - I did not copy the mission .pbo file in the Missions folder. I did it and tried again:

- I get now the 1.2 text in menu UI
- the 'recruit unit' option appears coming close to a friendly AI
- the squad menu appears after I accept the option
- the new guy does not follow automatically and does not react to "regroup"/"move there" commands, he just stays there

Am I doing something wrong? Should I issue some other command to the guy?

Fixed! They'll now behave as itended once recruited.
I'm updating right now ;)

EDIT : Done! Just re-download, replace the previous mission file & launch a new game.

Yes there is, eventhough it's more noticeable in Arma, where infantry is more numerous.
I think some other scripts handle this in a more realistic way - but this one is simple & efficient. Plus, you can combine it with others (I think).

hey guys,

first i want to thank all you who are working on the daizy-sp stuff, i really apriciate that as this way of gameplay is exactly what i always am looking for and it is very rare to find. (this sentence is main reason for my registration^^, as i read and download here for a cupple of days now.)

I played some days the chernarus 1.7.6.1 and also some days the firstversion of Factions Full Ai. I must say this second version of factions from yesterday, for me, is a huge gameplay-improvement.

I just installed again, as i saw you fixed a problem with the survivors today, and tell you guys all issues i may find.

Its a lot better explained now in the first post how the recruting works, yesterday i was trying to recrute bandits over and over again until i was looking for the survivor you mentioned in your post near elektro and  found him. I was like Ooooooo wow! Great AI solution. heheheh

One thing, not importand but it would be verry nice for the gameplay in my opinion. is it possible in further versions to divide the health cheat in 3 cheats? so that Healt, Food, Drink have seperate cheats? Or at least seperate health from eating and drinking. Because if i see me forced to use the health-cheat, i still would like to have the need to eat and drink. Just an idea...

now i go checking the zombies in the forrest. I like that in general are not to many zombies in the towns. That makes sp-gameplay better. If it would be more, maybee it is possible to lower the respawn timer? so that i can clean a village may with a sniper, and then have time to enter and loot all i want and leave before they spawn again... but also just an idea...dont know if this is possible.

Hi Nabu!

Thanks for the feedback - and no worries, english isn't my native language neither ;)
About the Cheat menu : I guess I'll modify it for the next update. Some features are broken and I'd like to include/replace a few options; I'll see what can be done while doing so - this is actually a good suggestion ;)

As for the Zeds - I might change a few things, but this isn't my priority right now... I plan to work on some things to improve the AI system as much as possible and add a couple of new features.

Anyway, glad to know you're enjoying the update! :D

Nice, thank you that you may have my suggested improvements about the cheats in mind :)

As i try to play without the live-cheat if i can, and you asked about some feedback about the zeds in the forrest:

I started to run around in the forrests between Kamenka and Bor. And i think i saw 2 or 3 Spawnpoints with around 5 zeds each in this area.

I think that would be ok if there is an improvement of getting food cooked (for regainig blood). As i was running around searching zeds in this area i imagined i have an axe, found a box of matches and try to get some animals for regaining the blood i lost looking for the equipment. but i cant find animals... they look verry rare, are they? And as far i know they are the onley way to get blood right now? So i think, if you add zeds in the forrests, which will make hunting more dangerous, may add more animals too to get some balancing back?

About this suggestion i am not sure, because balancing has verry different ways and interprations.

Yeah, animals can be hard to find sometimes - and hunting them being the only way to heal yourself, it's actually a problem...
But since I'd like to keep it as close to MP as possible, I'll most likely modify the script for the blood bags (so that you can use them on yourself) : they're pretty useless right now, and that would be a good reason for the player to loot some hospitals from time to time... tbh, I wanted to do this for this update - but totally forgot about it...

yea thats a good solution for this issue i think. thought its not possible to make blood-packs usable. i like the hunting/cooking part, but looting hospitals sounds really great too :)
