Hello.  I'm new to this Day Z game and am trying to figure out how to install this mod.  I followed the instructions on the first page but I keep getting errors about content being deleted.  Please, how do I go about fixing these errors?

I own;
Arma II, Arma II British Armed Forces, Operation Arrowhead (and Beta) and Private Military Company.

The first error I encounter is this-

"Addon 'dayz_anim' requires addon 'CA_Dubbing_Counterattck'.

The second error is this-

NoEntry 'bin/Config.bin/CfgVehicles/Citizen1.Scope'

And when I try to select one of the Mods missions I am told-

"You cannot play/edit this mission;  It is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted; Chernarus."

How do I fix these problems?  Thank you very much.

Make sure that the beta patch is your shortcut, and copy the addons folder from ArmA 2, and paste it in your OA directory. This should clear most, if not all the errors.

Personally I suffered from this problem once when I wanted to automatically rename the Bohemia Interactive ArmA mission files from BAF, PMC, ACR and Core. In order to have a cleaner ingame missions view. After all, it was not possible, because at some point he mission pbo's seem to have some necessary stuff inside.
Well, I would first look if the command line is alright and calls all necessary folders. The Beta has .cmd batch files where you can look into.
If you don't sort it out, I'd use the Steam (is it a Steam version?) repair function or reinstall. But be careful, uninstallation deletes the OA folder itself, so move your valuable tons of Addons before.
ArmA installation is also tricky (does at least apply to ACR), because usually it requires, after all, to end Steam, start as Admin, start game, and suddenly a BI installer does the necessary remaining jobs... Keep that in mind.

I think reinstallation is not so hard, but really don't forget to move Addons before if you don't want to redownload anything. E.g., I have around 100 GB in my ArmA folder and it's the reason why I needed a second SSD.

Guys, just for your inspiration, this is the way I call ArmA. You know you have to be careful with missions because they always have to be started with the same set of Mods. I like to use cmd batchfiles instead of windows shortcuts, because you have a better overview in those. There's no useless black cmd box in the background remaining btw... And if you need a fancy icon, well just make a shortcut to the cmd files...

- go.cmd goes into OA directory
- The other cmd's (have a look into them) go anywhere and start ArmA with the set of mods specifically for the mission.

As I said, just for your inspiration. It's for ArmA II beta. I have Win64. If you have Win32, you may have to change "Program Files (x86)" to "Program Files".

Also, I strongly recommend to organize ArmA mods with http://www.armarize.com - it's based on Six Network, but not an UI hell like PLayWithSix.

I did what you said and copied the folder to the OA folder.  I started the shortcut with the added line and got an error;

Addon 'CA_CommunityConfigurationProject_E' requires addon 'Arma_Ka52'"

When the game loads up I see a screen with squares and rectangular shapes with no text that are solid colors; the background is grey.

Do you use Arma Beta (you should) - and what is your command line? ArmA beta has _runA2CO_beta.cmd in OA dir, does it start ArmA? Will it work if you extend the ArmA call (its at the bottom of the script, behind ":Run" with the Breakingpoint mod?
And after all, you have to sort things out yourself, we all had to, simply, because ArmA is a bit tricky about addons and dependencies and you must understand how it works.

Just realized there is a new 1.63 beta on http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php - have only tested in MP (but very few servers support it yet).

Above, your graphics fix doesn't work. What you have to do is go into the Expansions tab in the menu and enable "breaking point" Make sure "@BreakingZero" is also enabled

Hi Above:
I have a problem in Namalsk,I can not use the "tow to a vehicle" in any vehicle,I can not move objects (barrels of fire,etc) why??

I would also like to know when you will repair the camping tents,as everyone knows they can not be packed.

 to fix the error messages like Ca_community.... and such just copy the contents of your AddOns folder in your arma 2 and paste it inno @breakingzero/addons

Badass might be pushing it a bit. A couple of guys I know have tried it out and their initial reports don't inspire much...

"I have say that it is terrible, even for an early release. No UI and zombies are just laughable. Zoombies isn't that much better apart from Chernarus looks amazing in the Arma 3 engine. But that's about it."

"Breaking Point on Arma 3 Altis is awful. The whole random element has basically been removed due to the map size, which is my main issue...that and it's very laggy."

That may be so but in the past. If you see a newer video and from PSISYNDICATE he shows the opposite. I have played many of the releases her including this one. But honestly for some reason killing zombies in Arma 3 is more satisfying. I found it to be more immersive.

I'll be honest, I keep trying to watch his videos but I can only manage five minutes at a time.

From the snippets I've watched, his voice and manic ways together with his constant calling of every little change in seemingly any game as being "cool", strikes me that he's targeting these at 8 year olds. A quick example would be the new customisations of that mod. They may be cool to him but non of it actually makes any sense - the average Joe in this sort of environment would not make a weapon better by messing with it...and this is also somehow accomplished without a screwdriver and other tools...so there's magic as well as zombies now...hmm.  Frankly, I come away from all of his vids thinking that I've lost another few thousand brain cells each time.

Personally, I think the zombie aspect has been done to death and no one seems to have got it right at all either in all this time, but that might be a failing of the engine and the tools they're working with possibly. I think someone would have more of chance if they stuck to the survival side of it to be honest. Yes I know that's been done too but I don't feel that many of these mods have had someone dedicated enough to make it happen so far. Most of them seemed to have been started by people who think the main measure of how good their mod is, is by the number of youtube hits it gets...and they then get sucked in to changing it to suit those people. It needs someone with vision...

About the closest I've seen to something resembling "semi-sensible" is DayzRP, but even that suffers from the many failings of this genre on this engine and has also become a complete nightmare to administer on just their two servers.

Moving to ArmA3 is not the answer at all either for me. People want mods on it seemingly only because it looks better to them and think it simply has to be better because it's newer. But they forget or don't want to recognise that the mechanics of the whole thing are changing little. The premise of this so called zombie apocalypse is very close to being the same as in Arma2 and the same problems will be there.

I still hold on to a little hope that Dayz standalone might be worth a look at (if they ever sort it out), but they will have to convincingly deal with the hacking problems of old, or it'll end the same way and a lot more quickly this time round. How many people will put up with getting nuked after spending hours making a base of their dreams, after having been through it a hundred times before...not many I'll wager.
