It's a very big mod,the extracted size is 1.11gb....and after i removed the mod, everything is back to normal,no more lags. I hope Halek will tweak the AI a bit in the next update... |
Well, i based my judging on the fact that in online play it was only needed to reload server and thus get rid of "trash" loot and vehicles that probably can cause slow downs. But in this mod obviously you cant do it, yet. Hopefully Haleks is working on this problem. Thats why i thought that you could be unaware of that fact and might not consider it to be the issue.
Regarding cowar mod itself i suppose that its not the size that causes lags, probably with next updates some issues will be fixed as well thus giving a more smooth gameplay. Also on the cowar mod site its written that you can customize it specifically for each mod. Have you tried that? Maybe disabling some uneeded features could solve your problems. |

Some of the recommended CoWar modules in Post#1 of this thread will take up CPU resources and lag your game if you do not have a reasonably capable computer. For me, the following CoWar modules are very laggy on my particular PC and once I uninstall these, the game is smooth :- gdtmod_plants2_tree LandTex_v1.0_chernarus_Data LandTex_v1.0_chernarus_Data_Layers Nevertheless, the longer I spent in-game, the laggier it becomes especially after travelling deep into the map, far from my initial spawn point. I guess Haleks suspect that the latter is caused by the loot. |
Well that is the only reason I can think of : dead bodies are deleted by the DMZ script, the number of Zeds is limited per player - even alive NPC's are removed if they are too far away (except for the friendlies, but they aren't that numerous)... And since even without addons the game begins to lagg after some time, it's the only logical explanation to me. Anyway, the loot clean up script is working great, but I'm still trying to figure out a way to keep the helicrashes loot. I'll also look into smaller things, like the 'remove item' issue - eventhough I don't promise anything (I'm not spending much time on it these days). |
Thanks Haleks. You are very hands-on. |

It's great that you got rid of the cheat menu, now we are forced to play properly !
Some suggestions and problems... 1) When you die and RESTART, it really does RESTART and wipes EVERYTHING ! Your body, your vehicles, your tents, EVERYTHING ! Is there any way to continue after dying in the manner of proper Dayz - ie where the world stays as it was when you died ? 2) Can you fix the Dayz bug where the zombie corpse retains it's clipping for an agonizing number of seconds ? It's a nightmare trying to get out of say, a barracks or a firestation and you can't run through a recently killed zed. 3) The zeds are WAY too spammy ! It seems they are based on the old spammy zombie Dayz version that everyone hated. One shot from a pistol brings down the hordes. I want to fight AI not waste my time with those glitching fools. Can't you make them react to sound in the standard manner ? 4) NPC recruits - please disable damage from friendly fire ! These guys have zero common sense and shouldn't even be trusted with a BB gun ! They will shoot straight through you to get a zombie that is 200m away ! 5) If you have are wearing a bandit skin - your idiot recruit will shoot you regardless of the fact that he is your ally ! |
Here are some suggestions to solve your problems partially for now:
1) Dont die at all. There is a save feature. It can only create one save file within game which is stored either in "My Documents" or "AppData" folder(i dont remember),and the save file needs to be deleted before you can save again as within game you cant rewrite the old save. But you can manually do some script using Autohotkey for example to come around that problem, or if you need more "checkpoints". 2) To get out from firestation you can use the known glich when you can get on outter ladder from inside the building. 4) You can press spacebar->9 to see available formations, hopefully those can be used to scatter your squad thus making it a bit less common for ai to shoot each other. P.S.: I hope that if Haleks even consider to add features suggested by you, like disabling frienldy fire or making zombies more deaf, he will do it in the form of options. |
Only 1 save per install ? Why is that ? Is it a deliberate design feature ? Or a problem that needs to be looked at ? Is it the same for all DaiZy mods, or just this version of Factions ?
|
@Kadis : looks like you're playing on expert mod, wich allows one save only - unless changing the difficulties options.
@Malau : We had a respawn system for this release a while ago, but it was crashing the game most of the time... I might consider making another one, but it is not my priority right now. Also the bandit skin thing is intentional : some people just like to hunt survivors rather than recruiting some, and those will defend themselves if you 'play the bandit'. As for the other issues you mention, those are bugs coming from either the game or the mod : I'm not planning on fixing them, as I have other things to intend to in order to make Factions 100% playable and bug-free! ;) |
Indeed, i was playing on veteran difficulty,it seems that doesnt make any difference from expert mode in regard to the save feature. Actually i was playing single player the first time, so that save feature was new to me.

You have to run around there for a while. Loot does spawn really slow in some buildings. I've noticed the same thing with the firestation/church in Elektro. |

For some reason ive been playing this for a long time now and ive realized everything starts getting slower e.g. takes longer to pic up stuff or repair things but its not lag tho. Please help because im stuck on a airfield and its taking 20 minutes just to refuel my heli.

The game slowing down over time is probably due to the amount of loot - I'm working on it (see the previous page). By the way, here's some infos : I've finished the loot clean up script, more or less. It deletes every loot piles & bags (except ammo boxes so far), I just have to determine what conditions will trigger the script and test it properly... But I think we now have a pretty solid work around to emulate a "server reboot" and keep the game smooth. Right now, I'm re-writting most of the helicrash loot sequence : if we don't want it to be deleted by the clean up script, the only solution is to spawn it inside weapon boxes. Such a system has its own limitations and it implies that the heli loot spawns will be quite different. Once it is done, the 2.7 update should be ready to be released. And of course, depending on the feedbacks, you guys can expect a similar update for the other Factions mods. |
Greetings,
"depending on the feedbacks" led to me registering on these forums and speak out. I fell in love with DayZ when I first played it. Got tired of teammates whinning and complaining about PVP though. I got tired of the hackers and grievers. I've tried a few of the SP maps but 'DaiZy Chernarus 1.7.7.1 FACTIONS 2.6.1' is my favourite. I hid loot on destroyed zombies, bandits, and just about anything that will only be temporary. I use the delete loot scroll down to clean up areas that I've gone through. It isn't enough. Eventually the game does bog down. I do understand that you are trying to clear this up. I have been silently in the background, patiently waiting for you to do an update. I still will wait patiently but I'd like to speak out a bit. I registered and am writing this to thank you for your efforts. Kudos to everyone that has contributed to making SP modes. I think it's great what everyone has done and are doing, but I can very much appreciate the effort gone into and the results of Chernarus Factions enough to tell you. Ripstop |
Considering what Ripstop said i can only assume that its the Dayz code itself that appears to be the reason of slow downs. The fact it was made for multiplayer leads me to think that devs knew about this and simply relied on "server reboot" when things become very laggy, so that people would not find about it thinking that reboots are specifically to refresh loot and vehicles, but not to prevent huge lags. Though still waiting for new update, maybe it will solve this issue afterall.
P.S.: Also i didnt try single player for other mods so dont know if they have slow downs as well as my whole assumption could be faulse. |

Hi,
ThereĀ“s a way to include M2 machinegun ammo (100Rnd_127x99_M2) and MK19 40 mm ammo (48Rnd_40mm_MK19) in the cheats menu? This is for a RHIB boat. For the SP maps. Thanks a lot Nice Work! |

I tend to think that you just can't clean up the entire area. The delete loot scroll down doesn't clear a building, it clears a radius from the player which doesn't appear to be that large - maybe 20 meters. If this could be made to clear a larger radius, you could finish off looting in a town and then sanitize it.
Just a thought... |
