I've been off Steam for a couple of days. But I'll stay online, I'm sure we'll both have quite abit to do, just in order to unlock 1.7.7.

I haven't really been messing with it, but I'll look at the code again. I'm sure I can backtrack the errors quite easily.
So you have the 1.7.7 files already? Could you provide me a link so I can have a first look at it?

I was planning on starting on a script that removes the loot if you're 200 away from it. Just like the body script, manually removing the loot all the time ruins the gameplay.

NO! It could quite possibly be a part of the regular DayZ. I haven't looked at the Origins code properly yet. But if they got the code to remove loot X metres away from a player, it will save me alot of time. xD

There's not to much code that goes into something like this, but still.

Well, I would love to tell you how easy and fast it can be done. But I'm afraid it will take a while. Since ALOT of things are broken. But most of it is in the same script, though.

They've let people download it for testing, though. The link is gone now, probably because it's about to get released soon and they're done testing.


But I've checked the files. And alot of things are broken. :P

No skins work, no zeds, no loot. This is not hard to fix, the question is how long it takes.


And Haleks, if you could and want, log Steam. We might aswell mess with 1.7.7 now, pre-release.

Only one problem, every time I play the hunger bar appears black. This used to be fixed by healing yourself with the cheat but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Yeah, the cheat menu only heals you now, it doesn't affect hunger & thirst anymore.
But it will go back to normal as soon as you eat something.

Here is a working way to fix the UI,...
Start up a new game....
use spawn menu and spawn a food can and a soda can and eat them....

DON'T YOU EVER TRY TO FIX IT WITH "GAME OPTION" trick !! It'll brick the UI for sure !

Oh i'm still using an old patch !  999..   XD

And here is an idea for any future update, it's not actually mine, i'm just repeating it :-)
How about adding an area crawled with bandits...a bandits territory ! And another area crawled with survivors ! A safe area from zeds and bandits !

I don't know about AI cars : I saw Above used the heli script as a base to add his patrolling cars; but since it uses a random patrol function, you won't see them doing something rational (driving on roads, going from town to town etc). There's also the matter of those roadblocks wich will make the AI fuck up their car in no time.
If I do this, it's gonna take a bit of time before I have something decent : I might make them patrol the roads near the coast & try to remove the roadblocks (wich seems complicated).

They actually ended up working properly. I saw cars going along the dirt roads in Elektro etc, behind the sniper hill. All the way down to the tree I was at. I haven't seen one crash yet. You should give it a shot. :D

And if there are problems, making a vehicle script wont be hard.

A couple of glitches I just noticed :

- The bandit squads are not working as intended : they spawn, but they do not move...
- If the player breaks his leg, he can heal himself without morphine.

This is being worked on and will be fixed ASAP!
