I've finally fixed Loki lost key btw. - that annoying blue text in the center. Last try I hid the text, but now I sa the error, an incomplete addaction call I think.
Have fun. http://www4.zippyshare.com/v/10947488/file.html |

I never implemented such a feature in 2018 - something must be wrong with your install. |
Hmm I think it was from BreakingZero. However, would you be so nice and restart a mission with -showScriptErrors once? There's so much wrong, so many variables unassigned, I am convinced a lot will be broken.
Is DayZX recommendable btw.? I read it uses code of DayZ Factions and AFAICS, indeed I will be able to easily use my cheat code from my factions mission file... |
Some of your problems are probably caused by using 1.8.1. The first post states this is for 1.8.0.3. Downgrade and see if that fixes some of the errors.

Hi there, just trying out this release.
Love the start where I'm in a damaged plane, out of fuel and get to pick where I can possibly start off :) Been playing for about an hour, managed to eject near Elecktro and went around the city, found some toolbar items and luckily a CZ! Zombies seem to be in their usual numbers, I added the pbo from the walkerz only folder which is working fine. My main concern is that I'm now out of Elecktro and half way to Chern and have yet to see or hear a single gunshot or AI presence. I know that in previous versions or Haleks builds I've pretty much been in a fire fight within first 10 minutes. My question is have I done something wrong overwriting the walkerz only pbo into 2018 addons or am I just currently unlucky to have not found any AI yet? I'm using Dayz 1.8.0.3 and beta patch 112555. thanks for any help given. |

Hopefully you did nothing wrong. In 2018 the NPC are less numerous compared to my previous releases (and I do think they can spawn at a greater distance). Plus, you begin the game some time before dawn; in Arma, the AI can't see much at night, so things tend to be quiet when it's dark. You should find some bandits/survivors eventually; my goal with 2018 was to have fewer, but deadlier encounters with NPC. Tell me how it goes, but it shouldn't have any issue. ;) EDIT : There's also the possibility that their patrol routine bring them too far from the city; I'll have to fix that if it happens too often (on the other hand, it increases the odds to meet them in the wild). |
Hey man, thanks for the swift reply.
You're right it all seems fine, I've tested about 4 hours now and yes I finally encountered AI bandits. It was actually really cool, unlike previous builds where AI were right up in your face shooting; this AI was creeping around about 700m north of Cherno, I was watching him for a few minutes but decided not to engage, makes a nice change from being thrust into an AI gun battle with no choice. Loot is certainly challenging, still looking for wheels for my first ride. One question, is there any way to turn off the weather effects? I don't have the best pc ever and once the snowfall starts it really hits on fps especially when in a city too. Thanks again, great work on this release. |

Hey, i have a question
I was playing first died like 10 times because I did not know how to handle the plane XD I played and appeared in Electrovzksdsga and spent a long time getting items and supposedly should have AI Bandits and survivors, well it turns out I found nothing, a zombie horde that was all I found made throughout the guide, every step and I see nothing of bandits or survivors what is the problem? |
The bandits/survivors are there trust me, it takes a few hours of playing before they seem to start spawning. I started in Elektro, ran to Cherno and spent an hour looting there before I finally saw a bandit creeping around way up North of Cherno, it was like he was avoiding the city.
Now I've probably been playing over 4 hours and there are a lot more bandits, I even had a team of 4 try flanking me at the docks. Just bare with it and they will start appearing :) |
really?
Okey, but surely if these appear, but they appear slow? and how I can recruit people? and those who recruited me can help make a house? |

Just passing by to keep you guys updated on the A3 project.
I know I promised a release soon; like I said all the main features & mechanics are in place, but I'd like to polish a couple of things. Right now I'm changing the radiation system, wich is way too hardcore currently. I've also modified most of the scripts to detect if the player is using specific mods like Massi's Weapon pack - in wich case the loot table will be updated accordingly. Sneak pics : |
Awesome...cant wait :) Thanks!

Looking forward because I resigned in playing Arma2, get flooded by script errors (with -showscripterrors turned on). Reinstalled ArmA, deleted profiles, used minimal conmmand lines with only necessary mods... Undefined variables, division by zero (its when Arrays undefined), etc. etc.
|
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone please start WHATEVER ARMA 2 MISSION with WHATEVER DAYZ MISSION with
-showScriptErrors command line argument. Do you see, like me, problems with ca, undefined variables, division by zero etc. etc.? |
I don't have Arma2 installed atm, but could you copy/paste some of those errors here? They should be logged in your RPT I think. |

Saprykheid, you said on the last page you were using DayZ 1.8.1. Have you downgraded to 1.8.0.3 and tried again? 1.8.1 is unsupported and that might be causing all of your problem.
|
Thanks for your help guys, I solved it. ArmA 2 latest Steam updates is the problem. It was a painful process. Simple solution: downgrade via Steam interface, it offers 1.62. Delete expansion\beta. Then install Beta http://www.arma2.com/downloads/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_103718.zip and use this. Maybe even a later beta.
Command line goes like (replace variables): "%_ARMA2OAPATH%\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" "-mod=EXPANSION;ca;Expansion\beta\expansion;%mods%" |
Nice, thanks for the info!
