Right so I was bored this weekend and I decided that it would be cool to use the base building system from the Wasteland scenario in Daiyz. Well now you have it guys, Daiyz Wasteland Chernarus. At the moment this modification spawns in the vehicles and base components from wasteland which means you can properly build a base in Dayz (seriously, tanks traps and sand bags!?!?). Somewhat more importantly however is the mission system imported from wasteland which includes missions to capture downed helis and broken apcs allowing an interesting way to acquire these things instead of just cheating them in. Unfortunately these things are normally guarded by NPCs but I will have to fiddle around more with the code to get them back in.

I used Daizy Ultimate v01e as a base and I didn't modify any of the bandit spawns/loot from that (and the survivors). However I did remove the vehicle spawns since I used the wasteland ones instead.

This looks really exciting. I'm going to download and play the hell out of this right now. Thanks for the great upload Morbius.
UPDATE: So I downloaded and tried to load this up with the 1.7.4.4+ code and before the mission loads at the "Scenario Selection" screen it gives me the following error: "No player was selected!" I wish that I could do more than just test mods out. I'm going to start looking into doing more in the DaiyZ community by looking at the coding. It should be an exciting project to help out. |
That is really strange. It works perfectly for me but then again most modding problems don't occur with the modder. As far as I am aware it could be a problem with your arma player profile. The only thing I can find on the net about it is http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?100733-quot-No-player-was-selected!-quot-error-message.

I dont know what to do i got no player selected or somthing ... How to fix
|
Right guys, it seems that I might have uploaded the wrong file seeing as the master and downloadable versions don't match. I have reuploaded to see if that helps.
|
It appears to be working fine for me...
Thanks! |
Yeah it seems I accidently uploaded an incomplete multiplayer version instead of the complete singleplayer version which explains why you guys got that error. Derp.

Having played a bit of this now, I'd just say that there are way too many Bandits (can't move two minutes in any direction without coming across a couple of 'em), and what seems like way too many zeds (although they do seem to spawn quite a ways off).
You know what I'd really like? Not so much of everything, really. Fewer Zeds, way fewer bandits, a few Survivors. Something more realistic, in other words. Travelling the zombie apocalypse should be a mostly lonely affair, interspersed with small moments of excitement - a few Zeds here, an odd bandit there... Instead, and as grateful as I am for all of them, most mods seem to frontload with way too much of everything. I know I'm whining. I'm still waiting for the definitive version of DaiZy. The one that feels just right. |

I'm feelin' ya. Gotta say tho, DaiZy will never "feel just right", not for everyone at the same time. This is where people gotta comment on whatever post they wanna change (like you just did :}). Many of us got alot of time to mod missions to please everyone, but people do not comment that often on posts. I've been talking about this with other modders, the only thing really holding us back is lack of feedback. EDIT* It sounds like I'm bashing you, but I'm talking about feedback in general. It wasn't 100% appropriate to do it in your reply, sorry. x') |

I downloaded everything, i never had problems with other releases.
It seems to boot up fine, then it goes to the DaiZY Loading screen and freezes on it. Any solution for this? |

This happens on my latest Namalsk too, it doesn't freeze entirely, just for a while. This is quite a pain, but every other time you stay alive, and go back, it'll be just fine. Try to tab out of the game, wait a second and then tab back. :D |
That worked! Thanks!

So, I was given a mission to go find a jackal (it looks sort of like an APC/buggy with an HMG on the front), but when I got to it, I couldn't get in. Instead of a get in prompt on my mousewheel menu, I was provided with a teal 'player menu' prompt. So I pressed enter and got an error message saying I was missing something or other.
Is this a common issue? Also, how do I go about building things? |

You scroll on an object, and you will get an option to move it, you then shift-walk with it to a car. Scroll again and "load object in car" or summit. Then just go wherever you wanna place it. :-) |

Very nice release! I was happily surprised to see the face I choose in my MP profile on my character! Small detail, but nice touch indeed...

Very good but can you make a no ai Takistan version? I want to build my base with out having to constantly fight bandits although if you can make it where you might have some bandits already there that you have to defeat in order to get the stuff plane crash missions or weapon drop missions.
