This release was intended to be played on DayZ 1.7.7.1.
Older versions may work, but I will not guarantee it. If you are having any problems, update to 1.7.7.1.
This release is based off DaiZy Factions 2.5 by Haleks, and uses all the features from that release.
STORY:
Nice bit o' story never hurt. If you're one of 'those' people, then go ahead and skip this section, jerk.
Six hours ago, you and thousands of other people boarded a few dozen C-30J planes with the military in order to escape to 'safety' from the spreading virus.
The planes headed directly north, over Antarctica. A huge blizzard caught the planes out of nowhere, and despite a desperate struggle, the planes could not withstand the damning of nature. The planes crash in the western area of Antarctica, but most of the crew and passengers of each plane survive.
Three C-30J planes are said to have escaped, but this is but a rumor. Even so, no one is coming for these people. They are in the middle of nowhere during a zombie apocalypse.
It only took three hours before people went insane. The genocide had begun.
Another three hours later, the present, you wake up. Where are you? How did you get here? You do not know. But it's a kill or be killed world now.
You must kill for supplies, or you will perish. It's freezing cold, there's no hospitals, there's nothing. You get injured, or get sick, you're already dead. You will die eventually.
Key Features:
- SONAR Radar! This will be your lifeline, it is extremely difficult to see in the snow.
- Respawning bandit and zombies!
- Tons of zombies! A lot of people froze or starved to death, you know.
- Snowstorm! Your temperature will drop very quickly. Should it reach 0, you will die. Fires or heatpacks will warm you up.
And all the features from DaiZy Factions 2.5 by Haleks!
Key Concerns:
Temperature!
Your temperature will drop very quickly if you are not near a source of heat. If your temperature drops to 0, you will freeze over and die. Fires will warm you up, and so will heat packs.
Visibility!
You need to rely on your radar, it is very hard to see in the snowstorm. You radar will only pick up movement up to 600 metres.
Instructions:
If you are having problems, make sure you ArmA 2 OA Beta Patch is up to date.
1. Download DayZ 1.7.7.1 from either dayzmod.com/, or via DayZ commander/PlayWithSix
2. Download the DaiZy FACTIONS files. This release uses it.
3. Make a folder called "@DaiZyFACTIONS" in your Arma 2 OA directory; inside, create a folder called "Addons".
4. Add all the DayZ 1.7.7.1 files from step 1 into the Addons folder inside "@DaiZyFACTIONS".
5. Copy & Paste all the files from the Addons folder of the package you just downloaded into the Addons folder inside @DaiZyFACTIONS (Overwrite the DayZ files from step 4, else you'll have no singleplayer option).
6. Download Etah Plateau, this is the map for the release.
7. Install the map files into the "@DaiZyFACTIONS" folder you made.
8. Download the DaiZy Snowstorm Genocide Release and install it into your ArmA 2 missions folder.
9. Make a shortcut to the ArmA 2 OA Beta Patch .exe and add "-mod=@DaiZyFACTIONS" into the target line.
NOTE : If you have an error message about missing content, you have to copy the Addons folder from Arma 2 into your Operation Arrowhead folder if you haven't already.
