DayZ 1.7.7 changes the spawn rates of items and zeds to be based on the FPS that you are getting (and I think client load in general). I am wondering if after playing for such a long time, the single player client/server architecture is having trouble keeping track of existing loot and zeds and therefore unable to spawn new ones.
