Hey mate, thanks for the help. :)

I am spawning into the world (the same place everytime) and when I run in first person I can see my arms but switching to 3rd person and I can't see my character at all. I'll give the SOW mod a go, thanks for mentioning it.

The files extracted ok for the zip file so I think they are ok. The game doesn't show any errors when launching but the RPT shows errors relating to loot spawning. I used the same install method as described for Dayz X but I'm not sure it's the same for this older mod.
 
I'll continue fiddling with it and see want happens.
