I guess this delay depends on your hardware, cpu, ram and hdd mostly. Maybe some kind of available memory overload or something

I Have not had a chance to try 2.6.1 yet, but I had the same issue in 1.7.6.1. the longer i played the longer the delay got. i have a corei5-3570k, I get 60+FPS most of the time and can even still record without stuttering. so i don't think the PC speed is the limitation.
