You didn't exactly tell him if you were running the Latest Beta Patch. You can download the Latest Beta Patch at: http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php

if you already got the latest beta patch installed did you create a shortcut and use the correct parameters? (-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion)

[there is easier ways to run a beta patch without a shortcut you can use 3rd party launchers like Withsix etc.]
