But if I understand the mod correctly, the AI survivors are of the same side as human survivors, so I would not understand why the Zeds ignore them unless it is scripted differently. As for bandits, im also quite confused.
The human players and AI (Bandits & Survivors) use the same models, but not the same in-game designation. THIS is the reason why Zombies will only go after the player. This is what would have to be changed in the core Zombie functions (numerous ones)... But at this point, with the stand alone so close it doesn't make sense to invest this much time and energy into it since the mod version of DayZ is probably nearing its end.

This is why BIS let Rocket have his own engine. So, he could custom code things the way they should be from the start and not have to be "hacked" on top of the ArmA 2 engine. This will hopefully give us better performance, too...

It won't flop.

It will only flop if the engine is unsecured and the script kiddies & hackers flock to it like they did the mod version. That will be the death of it because it will no longer be a free game and paying customers will expect it to be as cheat free as any game can be in this day and age of online cheating/hacking.

Agreed, I dont think it will flop as long as the engine is nearly bug-free, hackers rarely exist, and the game at least has not only MP but SP mode.

Second, a short story or at least some goals would be great as well.

Idk, keep in mind that they're changing ALOT. Some of it sounds dog. I'm obviously buying it notheless. I just think that many will be dissapointed.

One of the main issues that Rocket and the community at large want changed is the game to be about actual survival and not just a PVP game with survival elements.

If Rocket implements some of the features that have been thrown around in various interviews and forums, it should take on a life of being more about cooperative play and not just mindless death-matching and killing like the current MP mod has evolved into, hackers not withstanding.

It will still have Bandits and players can choose to play this way... But the majority of players want a more cooperative experience that depends on certain elements that just are not in the current ArmA 2 engine like safe havens, some kind of in-game economy, crafting, etc. Things that promote more community-oriented play and decrease the PVP aspect and possibly make it unappealing to the more immature players.

One of the ideas I like is roaming hordes of Zombies that travel the country-side, so players are forced to ban together in order to survive the attack. Once the horde is defeated, or disbanded then they can turn on each other again, but the important part is this kind of mechanic basically controls PVP because lone players won't be able to survive the horde alone no matter what they do. This is just one idea and who knows if it will actually make it to the retail version (at some point in time)... But the concept  behind it is what I think is what the larger community wants to help bring the game back to its survival horror roots and be less about MP death matching.

All the other ideas suggested have a basic philosophy about limiting resources (no military weapons at all?) and bringing a cyclical nature to a never ending game (MMORPG) because it is those cycles that keep the game world from not going to one extreme like the mod has become with PVPers taking over.

I agree that DayZ turned in to CoD more or less. I do support the PvP part of DayZ, but not in the current range. I want PvP to happen (not as often at all, but just alil somethin').

And the crafting part (the "Minecraft" stuff and so on) that sounds pretty cool.

But when he brought up having to take dumps in the game and stuff, and the poop would have a chance to infect players, that's where I kinda started wondering where the standalone were going.

I have a noob question : is there any chances that this fixes the IA system for Namalsk too? Or is it Chernareus only? (Never modded Arma before...)

This is a very old release. The Namalsk should have the latest AI system.

Well, which file should i download? at the first pae is an link, but i think these arent the Optimizations, because there are some thing called Xtreme cheat and such things, but i cant find the Optimization Thingy.

I really like this version of single player because the bandits and survivors engage everything,  but I noticed I can't seem to repair vehicles anymore.

Is anyone else noticing this with the single player?  Not just this version,  but the more recent ones too.

Sure, I could cheat and use the 'repair vehicle' command,  but it's a lot more fun to go find the repair equipment and repair it yourself.

Does anyone know why when I stand beside a repairable vehicle and look at it,  the repair menu isn't coming up?

I don´t have the attack zombies option to command the survivors. When I point to zombie shows civilian!

Sorry to say this, man, but if you take a look at the release date of this, and the most recent post before yours, you'll notice that this thread is dead. We've all moved on to other releases that actually work - for example, Haleks' FACTIONS releases. His releases work like a charm, why don't you try those out?
