There are two possible reasons your graphics look low-resolution:

1) If you did not purchase "Reinforcements" or buy the DLC (PMC and BAF) separately, you get a lite version of both in the 1.60 patch of Operation Arrowhead.

DayZ uses the PMC male and female models for player characters, so how detailed they look depends on what version of PMC you have (lite vs. stand alone/DLC). Rocket did this so everybody could play the mod regardless of what version(s) of the game they own.

2) Go into your video options and make sure "Post Processing" is set to OFF.

Setting it to "off" not only makes the motion blur / HDR go away, but it gives you anywhere from a 5-10 FPS boost.

Also, make sure HDR is set to low.

Finally, make sure your 3D resolution matches your rendering resolution as these two are often mismatched along with your screens aspect ratio.
