No Spawn problem......HELP!!!

ive read the forums and watched youtube videos and done everything that thay all have said to do....i still cant get anything to spawn what so ever but i can still play on the map, my most recent attempt to fix it was going to the DAYZ website and getting the most recent files and putting them in, now when i run it there is no HUD, nothing in the inventory and nothing spawns, i really dont know what to do and want to play so any help would be much appreciated! thankyou

Given that most people are able to get this to work without any problems, it's going to be important to find out as much information about your setup as possible.

What version of DayZ are you running?
Are you using a launcher (Six Play, DayZ Commander, Worrom's Updater, etc) to run the game?
If you're getting an error message, what does it say?
Are you using Steam?
From where did you obtain your copies of the ArmA games?
Are you able to run vanilla DayZ multiplayer?

i am running 1.7.2.6 of dayz, ive tried running it manually and with six launcher and with dayz comander, i am using steam, i got arma2 from a best buy, and arma 2 OA through steam, i cannot run multiplayer Dayz, ive tried everything with that as wel and i keep getting removed from the servers, and the only error msg i get is dayz requires CAsigns, but i hit ok and it still runs just nothing spawns ive had a couple instances were things spawn only in chernogorsk, but no were else in the map, and no loot spawns period, but then i come back a few hours later to play, without changing anything and its back to not working again.

Thanks for getting back with that information.

I think what's wrong here (thanks to the CAsigns error message) is that ArmA 2 needs to be updated. Go here and follow the links in Step 2:

I'd also recommend running ArmA 2 (not Combined Operations) after installing the update. It shouldn't be necessary, but it only takes a minute and could save a lot of hassle later.

Although Steam will mostly update Operation Arrowhead, you also need to use the beta patch (if you're not already) to update that.

That should get DayZ running. Run DayZ Commander and tell it to update or reinstall. Then try the multiplayer to make sure. If that works, then install DaiZy - DayZ Commander will have over-written some files.

ok, im downloading the arma 2 update right now. when ive tried to get the most recent beta patch, it installs but it comes up with a message saying invalid CD key then proceeds to update to 1.62 and it does it almost immediately so im not sure if its working or not. and like i said i have arma2 OA on steam while arma 2 is not. ill post this again once the download is done. hope this works

oh question with DayZ commander, it updates arma 2 from there already anyways, if i do it from there will that work as well or do i need to do it from the site you linked to me?

allright its downloaded but it said 1.05 required, game is only version 1.0 so im going through and ive downloaded 1.0-1.10 but i cannot get 1.11 because the site says authentication required and theres no were to make an account. so im not sure what to do beyond that

allright, i got it to work!!! thanks allot and i really appreciate it, game is allot of fun, my last question for you that i have is the character models graphics are very low and blurry, what i mean by character model is my character, how do you make it look better cause my graphics are all set to very high but still nothing and ive seen in youtube videos that their characters look really good. besides that thankyou for helping me to get it to work!!!

[DayZ_SP]

There are two possible reasons your graphics look low-resolution:

1) If you did not purchase "Reinforcements" or buy the DLC (PMC and BAF) separately, you get a lite version of both in the 1.60 patch of Operation Arrowhead.

DayZ uses the PMC male and female models for player characters, so how detailed they look depends on what version of PMC you have (lite vs. stand alone/DLC). Rocket did this so everybody could play the mod regardless of what version(s) of the game they own.

2) Go into your video options and make sure "Post Processing" is set to OFF.

Setting it to "off" not only makes the motion blur / HDR go away, but it gives you anywhere from a 5-10 FPS boost.

Also, make sure HDR is set to low.

Finally, make sure your 3D resolution matches your rendering resolution as these two are often mismatched along with your screens aspect ratio.
