Editing the DaiZy Factions loot table without breaking it?

Is it possible at all to de-pbo the dayz_code.pbo that comes with the new DaiZy factions release so that I can modify the Loot table cfgs without breaking it.
When you do this currently the game is unable to detect the variables.sqf file and likely others. Any workarounds? I want to add my own loot/weapons that are NOT spawned in through cheats/lost key.

Are you using pbo manager?

No, I'm using something called 'Arma PBO View'
Should I be using that instead?

Oh, and the decompiler I use is called 'ExtractPBO'
It doesn't seem like a mainstream combo but I'm so used to it working so.
